With 2023 close approaching, we’ve been getting our clients at Civilised prepared for the new year.
Christmas at Stanford Coachworks
This month, the team at Stanford Coachworks have been getting festive! We have had great fun at our Christmas party, we’ve got our Christmas tree standing proudly in reception and our festive snowman has been spotted all around Stanfords! Even some of our latest conversions have received the festive treatment. But as 2022 draws to a close, company directors, Jess and Lee, would like to say thank you to our fantastic staff, wonderful clients and brilliant suppliers for an incredibly busy year.

Maxus eDeliver 9 Demonstrator
This vehicle had to make our most memorable list as our partnership with Heathrow Van Centre produced the first M1 & M2 brake approved fully-electric minibus to hit the market! Take a look at our e-SCW page for more on our electric conversions.

Treloar's 4x4 Ford Transit
You may have spotted our premium conversion for returning clients, Treloar School and College at the 2022 Commercial Vehicle Show. This vehicle was designed to provide all-year accessibility to the education centre for all students - no matter the weather!

Panasonic's Product Exhibition Vehicle
This one most certainly was a Stanfords first! We converted an entirely bespoke product exhibition vehicle for well-known electronics company, Panasonic. Their vehicle featured multiple pieces of their latest equipment such as televisions, heating systems, cooling systems and more.

Hireco's Mini Monaco
In 2022, we converted a ‘Mini Monaco’ based on a Volkswagen T6. This luxury vehicle featured a premium reclining seats, Apple TV, starlight roofing, new fold-out tables and more! Take a look at more of our ultra-luxury conversions on the Monaco by Stanford website.

The Mobile Barbershop
We produced another Stanfords-first in 2022 when our client decided to go mobile with his popular barbershop! The vehicle included a full barber station with a Belmont chair, sink, hair vacuum and a waiting area with a television, PS5 and a minibar.

Civilised's New Tour Buses
Towards the end of this year, we have been busy converting multiple production and splitter vehicles for Civilised’s 2023 season. With a selection of both Volkswagen Crafters and Renault Masters, including a variety of configurations, Civilised are set for 2023.

Stanfords in Scotland
Stanfords even headed right up to Scotland this year when we converted a premium passenger vehicle for luxury 5-star resort, Cameron House on Loch Lomond. Guests will be greated by the deluxe vehicle complete with champagne, cozy blankets and embroidered cushions.

SVS Emergency Ambulance
Our medical service vehicles have been popular too in 2022 and earlier in the year we converted two emergency ambulances for our long-standing clients, Specialist Vehicle Sales and Hire. The Renault Masters feature a full treatment room, custom storage, IV dril rails and more.

Fiat Ducato - Yacht Edition
We did something a little different with our demonstrator vehicle this year and gave it a premium themed twist. Inspired by some of the World’s most luxurious sailing yachts, our L3H2 Fiat Ducato featured a high-end, classic interior.

The New Ford Tourneo Connect
Ford released their brand-new Ford Tourneo Connect this year, and we managed to get our hands on a few. We carried out multiple accessible conversions on the new facelifted model but our most memorable had to be our first, converted for a long-term local authority client.
What have we been up to this month?
A premium accessible Fiat Ducato heads to Scotland
This month we have had the pleasure of converting another premium L4H2 Fiat Ducato, this time for one of our returning clients based in Scotland. Their new Fiat Ducato features a stylish interior design with seven rear saloon executive passenger seats upholstered in black e-leather with a silver diamond-stitched pattern. The accessible minibus can facilitate up to three wheelchairs and includes a Ricon internal tail lift, rear saloon heating and air conditioning, and a pedal operated side step. We would like to thank our client for their order and we hope that they enjoy using their new vehicle. We hope to work with them again in the future.
New accessible minibuses for a returning specialist transport company
The Stanfords team have also been busy converting a variety of wheelchair accessible vehicles for one of our long-term clients. Based on Renault Masters, MAN TGE’s and Peugeot Boxers, each vehicle can carry up to three wheelchairs and all include six rear saloon passenger seats, internal tail lifts and pedal operated side steps. The accessible vehicle will be used to provide specialist transport to young people with special educational needs. We worked closely with another of our clients, HireCo Group, to help supply the organisation with the perfect transport solution.
New year, new tour buses for Civilised Car Hire
With 2023 close approaching, our London-based long-term touring clients have been getting ready for a busy new year by taking delivery of more Stanfords tour buses.
Throughout December, we have been busy converting Civilised Car Hire’s first batch of brand-new production vehicles. These specialist production vehicles differ slightly from Civilised’s recent splitter vehicle conversions. As opposed to rear equipment storage space, the back half of Civilised’s new vehicles feature a full dressing area with fold-out LED illuminated mirror and work desk! These conversions are perfect for film, TV and fashion crews who need a private space to get ready on the go.

Our design process and approach
How are our bespoke conversions different from other converters?
Being a small family run business, we hold much pride when it comes to our conversions and our directors share a huge interest in each and every vehicle. All conversions are inspected by our senior management team to ensure that high standards of both safety and quality are met.
Prior to delivery, each vehicle also undergoes a full pre-delivery inspection where every aspect of the conversion is tried and tested. Safety is our number one priority so we ensure that each vehicle is converted using the highest quality materials. All flooring systems and seating is certified to meet UK safety legislation.
We only ever use quality components that have been carefully sourced by our directors. This ensures that clients can always rely on their vehicle, whatever its use may be.
