A New Minibus for SEAG
Nigel, of the SCW sales team has been incredibly busy delivering a brand-new wheelchair accessible Mercedes Sprinter to South Edinburgh Amenities Group (SEAG). Nigel did an impressive amount of traveling around the UK, covering over 940 miles across two days to ensure that he could handover the new vehicle to SEAG himself.
A Bespoke Mobile Outreach Centre for Central Bedfordshire Council
Throughout March, the Stanfords team have been busy building a bespoke Mobile Outreach Centre for two services at Central Bedfordshire Council.
The Stanford Coachworks sales and design teams have had the pleasure of working closely with both Central Bedfordshire Council’s Youth Support Services and Community Safety to produce an innovative design for their new minibus. Although different sectors within the council, both services have combined forces and will be sharing the new vehicle to help spread running costs. This also means that the vehicle has been specially adapted to ensure that it meets both services requirements, including full wheelchair accessibility.
The Design
This bespoke conversion is based on a L3H2 Peugeot Boxer and features a multi-purpose rear saloon configuration, with a passenger seating area in the front, kitchen facilities and a comfort bench seating area in the rear. Thanks to the seating area in the front, Central Bedfordshire’s mobile outreach centre also has the ability to transport up to four passengers or one wheelchair occupant with some seats removed.
Kitchen and Seating Areas
Worktop storage unit that runs along the interior nearside
Both hot and cold-water sinks
230-volt plug sockets to plug in facilities for hot drinks
Lockable storage compartments
Both seating areas also include tables, ideal for when the teams require desk space.
Entertainment
With the vehicle being utilised by Youth Support Services, it was vital that it included a variety of entertainment options.
4K smart television with a PlayStation 5
Bluetooth sound system
HDMI socket, allowing passengers to plug in devices and mirror directly to the big screen – perfect for presentations or watching a movie!
