Another Single WAV for our Local Authority Client
Our larger minibuses may not be suited to your organisation so at Stanford Coachworks we also provide a range of single wheelchair accessible vehicles to meet your requirements.
This Vauxhall Combo Life SE XL has been converted for one of our long-standing local authority clients and will be provided to a residential home within their county. Single wheelchair accessible vehicles tend to be a popular choice with residential homes as their smaller size allows all staff to drive them without the requirement for a D1 licence.
The care home’s new Combo will be used to help safely transport residents to and from doctors / hospital appointments where required. With the facility to carry a single wheelchair, this Vauxhall Combo conversion provides a more private environment for the care home’s residents compared to that of a multi—passenger minibus. The Vauxhall Combo can also be easily parked in height-restricted car parks, commonly found within hospitals.
To make the vehicle accessible to residents requiring the use of a wheelchair, we converted the rear of the vehicle and installed a specially designed fold-out ramp which sits inside of the original vehicle flooring. An electric winch and electroreels are also installed to help aid the wheelchair users up the ramp. Once inside the wheelchair can then be safely secured using the wheelchair restraints. A full three-point seat belt is also available for the occupant.
